A 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre from Rusnak arriving at and leaving the 2025 San Marino Motor Classic at Lacy Park. Introduced in October 2022, the Spectre is Rolls-Royce's first production electric vehicle and it is powered by two electric motors producing a total of 577 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. This example, finished in Wittering Blue with Mandarin coachline and Charles Blue and Navy Blue interior, has an MSRP of $539,850. It was used by Rusnak as a dealer demonstrator for client test drives and is now is available for sale with a price of $437,443.

Rolls-Royce made a pretty bold move in launching the electric Spectre. While I don't belong in the company's target tax bracket, I think the car is an excellent idea, offering discerning luxury shoppers the incredible silence and added practical performance of an electric powertrain. It looks futuristic, yet unmistakably Rolls-Royce. While the front light positions may look a bit awkward from some angles, the overall package is classy and elegant yet modern, fitting for its advanced powertrain.

Of course, when you mix technological innovation with high-end luxury touches, the result is something very, very expensive. And like most modern luxury cars, this car is going to depreciate like crazy. Plus, chances are being an EV will make that depreciation even worse. Based on this car's MSRP and current sale price, it has already lost the cost of a new Porsche Taycan after just one year. Yikes. But if you have half a million bucks lying around, this might not be a bad way to put yourself behind the wheel of a practically new, highly innovative, and beautifully specced Rolls-Royce and drive home with a hundred grand left in your pocket.
