1,139-hp Lightning Silver Aston Martin Valkyrie
A rare 2024 Aston Martin Valkyrie coupe leaving Sunset GT hosted by O'Gara at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Developed in collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the Formula One-inspired Valkyrie features a lightweight carbon fibre structure, an aerodynamic design with open underfloor generating 1,100 kg of downforce, and a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 engine and an electric motor producing a total of 1,139 horsepower. This example, finished in Lightning Silver with Valkyrie Gold accents and gloss carbon fiber, is no. 117 of 150 Valkyrie coupes built with a starting price of around $3.5 million.
You know our lawmakers really have their priorities mixed up when it's illegal to import ordinary family sedans not built to meet U.S. regulations but it's perfectly legal to drive an Aston Martin Valkyrie on public roads. This car's bodywork is more extreme than many purpose-built race cars with massive aero components that look ready to slice off the limbs of those who come too close. If it weren't for the subtle front styling cue hinting at Aston Martin's signature grille, I would never have guessed this car was made by the same company known almost exclusively for classy front-engined grand tourers. It's more suitable for a villain seeking world domination than for a government agent in a tailored tux. And from the looks of it, I imagine getting in and out of the cockpit will require at least a few lessons in professional gymnastics. I've heard reports of some major reliability concerns for this car, but if you're in the tax bracket to consider buying one, surely a few repairs aren't going to break your budget. Aston Martin had teased for years at building production rear-mid-engined performance cars, and it has definitely made a strong entrance with what is easily one of the wildest road-legal new cars money can buy.
Would you choose this Valkyrie over other hypercars on the market today? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
