1,600-hp Blue Carbon Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut "Kronos"
A rare 2025 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut leaving "Prebble", a Pre-Monterey (Pre-Pebble Beach) gathering at HyperSociety. Introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Jesko is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 1,280 horsepower (or 1,600 horsepower on E85 fuel) mated to a 9-speed "Light Speed Transmission". In Absolut configuration, it features streamlined bodywork with two rear fins and removable wheel covers producing a drag coefficient of 0.278. On August 7, 2025, the Jesko Absolut set a new world record achieving 0-400-0 km/h in 25.21 seconds driven by factory test driver Markus Lundh. This example, dubbed "Kronos", is one of 125 Jeskos (including both Absolut and Attack configurations) being built. It is finished in Poseidon Blue-tinted carbon fiber with 24K gold leaf accents. The right-hand drive car, chassis no. 7389, is part of a U.K.-based collection and was flown to America to attend Monterey Car Week and participate in other automotive events.
When it comes to supercars and hypercars, there's no better time to be in Southern California than the weekend before Monterey Car Week. There are always numerous events to keep both owners and spectators hyped up in preparation for the annual northbound pilgrimage (which I hope to partake in someday), and it's not uncommon for cars from other states or even other continents to make a rare appearance. That's why this right-hand drive Jesko with U.K. plates ended up in Orange County. It's equal parts engineering marvel and artistic masterpiece, and seeing the blue exposed carbon and shiny gold bits in person under direct sunlight leaves me no doubt that pictures and videos simply can't do it justice. This car supposedly cost its owner around £4 million (or around $6 million). That's an amount unfathomable by most of us humble earthlings. But if you had that much money to spend on a single car, there probably aren't many better choices than this.
