A blue 1947 Frazer Manhattan arriving at and leaving the 2026 San Marino Motor Classic at Lacy Park, where it won Third in Class (Preservation Cars 1946-1957). Built by the Kaiser-Frazer Corporation, the Manhattan features styling by Howard “Dutch” Darrin and is powered by a 3.7-liter Continental L-head 6-cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission.

The early post-war years were a new beginning for automakers, with some resuming production of pre-war models and others quickly developing new ones. While the Frazer offered a fresh new design and was initially successful, it quickly gave way to models from other brands thanks to rapid post-war advancements (not to mention ongoing internal company struggles), landing the brand in a sea of contemporary American manufacturers that ultimately met their demise. Many still remember the Frazer name today, though it is seldom mentioned. And needless to say, getting to see a Manhattan on the road now is certainly a rare opportunity!

Would you choose this Frazer Manhattan over other contemporary American luxury sedans? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
