1954 Jaguar XK120 SE Drophead Coupe

A silver 1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe (DHC) with Connolly leather interior arriving and leaving Legacy Cars & Coffee at Flight at Tustin Legacy. This car is equipped with the factory Special Equipment (SE) option which includes an upgraded 3.4-liter straight-six engine producing 180 horsepower.

Most people agree that the E-Type is the most beautiful Jaguar ever built (if not one of the most beautiful cars in general). But if I had to pick a second place winner, the XK120 would be a likely candidate. Like many of Jaguar's most sought-after models throughout its history, it combines world-class performance with sensual, timeless styling. (And for those who aren't familiar with classic cars, this video shows just how much effort is needed to steer it at low speeds!) The Jaguar brand has been rather quiet ever since it revealed the highly polarizing Type 00 concept nearly two years ago, but that's about to change in about a week when it finally unveils the production version, the Type 01, which is sure to continue generating much controversy. It's too early to know whether the new car can save the brand as it boldly transitions into a new era. But I have a feeling it's not going to win any beauty contests when parked next to an XK120!
