The one-off 1999 Nissan Skyline (R34) GT-R "R348 Autobahn Project" by Blitz leaving Winter Drive 2019, organized by Purist Group, at Industry Hills Expo Center. This car is powered by a modified RB26DETT engine stroked to 2.75 liters with a KKK turbocharger producing 850 horsepower. In July 1999, it reached a record top speed of 213 mph at the German autobahn, beating the previous record set by the RUF Yellowbird.

I remember this car making a very rare appearance at the previous year's Winter Drive as one of the highlights of that event with every indication that it would soon be shipped back to Japan to stay. Then apparently it somehow got snatched up by a new owner right here in Southern California. Any R34 GT-R is a highly desirable car, but the most hardcore JDM enthusiasts know that there are certain special factory editions, as well as certain noteworthy aftermarket builds, that stand out above the rest. And this one-off tuner special is certainly an exceptionally coveted example. I have no idea how it ended up staying in America, but I'm sure not complaining about having more chances to see it!

How much would you pay to add this unique Blitz R34 Skyline GT-R to your garage? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
