A 2025 Caterham Seven 420R driving at the Pre-Monterey Car Week Exclusive hosted by Protective Film Solutions in partnership with XPEL. The Seven (7) has been produced by Caterham since 1973 after the company purchased the rights to the original car from Lotus. The 420R weighs around 1,300 pounds and is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated Ford Duratec four-cylinder engine producing 210 horsepower mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 136 mph. This example, finished in Vintage Green with Firecracker Yellow “7” grille and noseband and black interior, is equipped with numerous factory options including race suspension, upgraded front brakes, carbon seats with padding, and a race roll cage. It is currently available for sale at European Collectibles with a price of $99,500.

For those who think a Lotus Elise is too big and heavy and needs more power, Caterham understands your heart. Tracing its roots back to the diminutive Lotus Seven first produced in the late 1950s, the modern car remains true to its lightweight philosophy despite having pretty much nothing shared with the original car (aside from styling inspiration). 210 horsepower may not sound like much on paper, but combine that with the 420R's light weight and open bodywork and you have a recipe for canyon-carving bliss.
