Bentley B Special 3/8 Racer by Racing Green Engineering
A dark green 1928 Bentley B Special 3/8 Racer leaving the 2018 Rodeo Drive Concours d'Elegance. Built by Racing Green Engineering in Wales, the B Special 3/8 Racer is constructed on a refurbished Bentley Mark VI chassis. It features aluminum bodywork inspired by vintage Bentley racing specials over a tubular steel frame and is powered by either a Bentley B81 6516-cc eight-cylinder engine or a Bentley B80 5675-cc eight-cylinder engine mated to a Bentley four-speed transmission.
The key to building a credible recreation of a vintage car is authenticity. Sure, this car isn't an original 1920s Bentley racer. But it has an actual Bentley chassis, an actual Bentley engine, and various other original Bentley components. From a driver's point of view, Racing Green improves on the original car without taking away from its raw driving experience. And from a spectator's point of view, it's still a rare classic Bentley that turns heads wherever it goes.
