Black 1950 Jaguar Mark V Saloon
A black 1950 Jaguar Mark V Saloon leaving Cars & Coffee at Singleton Classics.
It's unfortunately too easy to forget about Jaguar saloons from this era. They often live in the shadows of their iconic two-door stablemates like a fine gentleman accompanying a supermodel. If I didn't know better, I would have thought this car was a Bentley based on the front end, and from afar the only way I knew it wasn't one was the fact that the rest of its bodywork was different from those of Bentleys I've encountered. But that only shows that this Jag was - and still is - able to stand its own among the very best. It had enough presence to tell people you're someone important without being overly showy, and its four-door bodywork is both stately and sensual. I've seen this car at numerous events, and I'm glad its owner enjoys giving enthusiasts the oh-so-important reminder that Rolls-Royce and Bentley weren't the only worthy contenders in the post-war British luxury car arena.
