Boden Autohaus McLaren P1 w/ HRE P301 Wheels

A rare custom 2015 McLaren P1, one of 375 P1s built, leaving South OC Cars and Coffee at the Outlets at San Clemente. This car, finished in MSO Acid Yellow, has been modified by Boden Autohaus with fully polished HRE P301 wheels.

There was a time when hypercars were considered sacred masterpieces of design and engineering, perfected by the manufacturer and not intended to be altered in any way. But in today's world where the rich are constantly looking for new ways look rich, what better way to flex than to get a limited-production hypercar worth more than most people's houses, then supe it up like a Civic to show that you don't give a flip about resale value? To be clear, this definitely isn't a cheap custom job; Boden is no stranger to tuning some of the world's most exclusive supercars and hypercars, and a set of these HRE wheels is worth more than some decent used cars. But I can't help but feel that the chrome-like wheel finish (I know it's technically not really chrome) cheapens the look of the whole car. Still, it's certainly different - something most people have never seen and probably have never imagined (for better or for worse). The P1 already looks like something that traveled from a distant planet, especially in this bright yellow hue, and a set of equally flashy wheels only enhances its otherworldly appeal.
