A brand new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Supersports starting up and driving into a transporter after Sunset GT hosted by O'Gara at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Based on the 4th-generation Continental GT, the Supersports is a driver-focused model with rear-wheel drive and a two-seat cabin. With a total weight of under 2000 kg, it is powered by a non-hybrid twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 657 horsepower mated to a ZF 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car features a carbon fiber roof, Akrapovič titanium exhaust system, revised bodywork for improved aerodynamics and cooling, and 22-inch lightweight forged wheels developed in partnership with Manthey Racing. This example, a pre-production factory demo car, is the same car shown at the Supersports' world debut in New York on November 14, 2025. It is finished in "Daybreak", one of five themes developed by Bentley's design team for the Supersports, featuring Jetstream Matte with Arctica and Portofino livery. 500 individually numbered examples of the Supersports will be built with deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.

I confess that to this day I haven't managed to catch a single current (4th-generation) Bentley Continental except this one. And of all the examples out there roaming the streets of Southern California, it happens to be a brand new Supersports, or rather THE brand new Supersports - the same one shown at the car's debut event a month ago with a "000/500" plaque, offering a preview of what to expect when production begins late next year. Needless to say, I was a bit surprised to find myself in its presence.

While today's Bentley is most often seen as a competitor to Rolls-Royce in the premium luxury segment, the company's early years were all about racing. And with this latest Supersports, Bentley has shifted its attention back to building a truly driver-focused and performance-oriented car. With all-wheel drive, the hybrid system, and the rear seats all sacked in the name of weight reduction, this car has an entirely different soul despite being based on the existing Continental GT. It may be slower and less powerful on paper, but its driving experience is one not offered by Bentley in decades. And if the production car proves to be as exciting as expected, it's definitely going to be a highly sought-after collectible and a special milestone in modern Bentley history.

Would you trade the power, speed, and all-wheel drive layout of the standard Continental GT for the driver-focused Supersports? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
