A grey 2005 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti arriving at and leaving Peninsula Cars & Coffee at Promenade on the Peninsula, organized by the Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance.

This is probably one of the most often-forgotten modern series-production Ferraris. While I see a little California in the front fascia and a little F430 in the taillights, the 612's somewhat retro-inspired design is largely different from just about any other modern Ferrari. I think it's a very elegant and classy car that has aged quite well, although I won't deny it looks a bit bloated from some angles and those wheels have never really looked good from the day the model was introduced. (The other factory designs fit the car much better, and the optional Challenge wheels, while more cliche for contemporary Ferraris, really help bring out the 612's sporting character.) It's not typically seen in red and it's certainly not the first Ferrari that would come to anyone's mind, but it's no less an elegant and largely underrated exotic grand tourer with a big Italian V12 that deserves to be recognized and appreciated.

Do you think the 612 Scaglietti is an underrated modern Ferrari? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
