GT Silver Porsche 918 Spyder w/ Martini Livery, Weissach Package
A rare 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder arriving and leaving Protective Film Solutions' Cars and Coffee. This example, finished in GT Silver Metallic with Martini livery and equipped with the Weissach package (an $84,000 factory option), is no. 753 of 918 918 Spyders built.
The 918 Spyder may not have gone down in history with the same legendary status as the Carrera GT, but it's still remembered for holding its own alongside the LaFerrari and McLaren P1 back when the three entered the hypercar scene with innovative hybrid powertrains. I think it still looks as good as new, and it proves that Porsche is capable of going beyond heavily beefed-up 911s and building a ground-up supercar for those with bottomless wallets. Given the current financial struggles of Porsche (and the VW group in general), it's hard to say whether a new production hypercar will join the company's portfolio anytime soon and show the world what the brand is capable of after another decade of engineering and technological advancement. But doesn't hurt to dream, right?
Do you think Porsche will produce a successor to the 918 Spyder in the near future? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
