Matte White Maserati MC20 in Beverly Hills (w/ startup)
A matte white (Bianco Audace) 2022 Maserati MC20 arriving at the Maybourne Beverly Hills hotel. This car is equipped with over $75,000 of factory options including Exterior Carbon Fiber Package, lightweight racing seats, and carbon fiber roof and spoiler.
The MC20 has been on sale for several years already, and I'm surprised at how few examples I've seen, both on the streets and at car events. That's definitely unfortunate, because even in a place like Beverly Hills where supercars can be seen left and right, this is a pretty special car.
It's not often that I come across an automotive design langauge that translates equally well to cars with engines in front and cars with engines in back. Maserati definitely nailed it here. From every angle, the MC20 and new GranTurismo share clear family resemblance with modern interpretations of the brand's rich design history. Yet they're entirely different cars, and they're both so incredibly sexy. The MC20 brings a fresh new face to a class that has in recent years seen mostly evolutionary design changes. It sounds pretty sweet too, especially for a V6. And of course, it has those butterfly doors that might make it just a little more appealing to those who may also be considering an F8, 296, or Huracan. The last time the Trident brand offered a car with the engine behind the driver, it was the Enzo-based MC12 (which, like its Prancing Horse counterpart, belongs to a much more exclusive class of supercars.) Since Maserati's independence from Ferrari, it has continued working to carve out its own place in the crowded modern luxury car market. I hope it keeps building cars like this, ultimately reestablishing itself to run right alongside Ferrari as it did decades ago.
Do you think Maserati should continue investing in building supercars like the MC20? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
