New $270K 2026 Porsche 992.2 Turbo S (w/ startup)
A new 2026 Porsche 911 (992.2) Turbo S coupe starting up and leaving Manhattan Beach Cars & Coffee at The Point in El Segundo. Introduced at the 2025 Munich Auto Show (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung), the 992.2-generation Turbo S utilizes Porsche’s T-Hybrid powertrain consisting of a 3.6-liter flat-six engine with two electric turbochargers and a PDK transmission-integrated electric motor producing a total of 701 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. It has a starting price (MSRP) of $270,300 for the coupe and $284,300 for the Cabriolet.
The Turbo S has always been one of the most understated Porsche 911 variants with incredible power and performance, pricing in exotic supercar territory, and styling nearly indistinguishable from the (much less expensive) base Turbo. Interestingly, for the 992.2 generation Porsche decided to introduce the Turbo S without a non-S counterpart. Maybe it's because less expensive variants like the GTS have gotten so good that there's no room in the already crowded 911 lineup to justify a base Turbo anymore. Or maybe it's because buyers of previous-generation Turbos often spent so much on options that the final price ended up in Turbo S territory anyway. I haven't done the math myself, but I've heard that if you wanted a fully optioned Turbo, it could have actually saved you money to just buy a Turbo S.
Like its predecessors, this latest Turbo S wears intentionally restrained styling compared to its GT-badged stablemates. The look of those active front vents, while serving a great purpose, definitely takes getting used to. And the new hybrid powertrain is something not ever potential buyer will embrace despite now being the industry standard and offering improved performance. But if you have an extra $270K to spend, there aren't many cars that can do such a good job of balancing luxury, usability, and performance in an understated package.
