A rare new 2024 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato arriving at and leaving South OC Cars and Coffee at the Outlets at San Clemente. Introduced in production form in November 2022 based on a 2019 concept, the LP610-4 Sterrato is an all-terrain variant of the Huracán. It is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 602 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. The Sterrato features modified suspension with increased ground clearance and travel, protective underbody sills, Bridgestone all-terrain tires specially developed for the Sterrato, revised bodywork with widened track and LED lights on the front bumper, and a "Rally" driving mode. This example, finished in green (Verde Draco), is one of 1,499 Sterratos being built.

Lamborghini may not have Ferrari's extensive racing history, but it certainly has experience building machinery for rugged terrain thanks to its Humvee-like LM002 and its roots in the farm tractor industry. Somehow, I've managed to fail at catching even a single Huracan Sterrato on video until now. And I have to say, it's quite a special vehicle. I can't believe I'm admitting this, but despite being what seems like the millionth Huracan variant, the Sterrato makes me forget I'm looking at something based on the decade-old model. Even with many familiar design elements, it's a fresh spin on the supercar formula that bridges the wide gap between sleek super sports cars and rugged off-roaders. The flared fenders and other add-ons look better in person than in pictures, especially when paired with gold wheels and a nature-inspired color like this. Sure, 4x4 enthusiasts will quickly point out that the Sterrato's beefed-up suspension still doesn't come anywhere close to that of a proper off-roader. And I'd be surprised if more than a handful of owners actually take their $300,000 Lambos out on the dirt. But even on pavement, the car's increased ground clearance and raised overall height eases a lot of common worries of driving a supercar. Right now, the Sterrato and the Porsche 911 Dakar are the only two big contenders in the all-terrain high-end supercar market. But given their popularity, it will be interesting to see if other automakers decide to give them a little more competition!

Would you choose the Sterrato over a Huracan STO? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
