Newly Rebuilt Argento Nürburgring Ferrari F40 LM Conversion

A rare custom 1990 Ferrari F40 with Vossen wheels arriving at and leaving South OC Cars and Coffee at the Outlets at San Clemente. This car, one of 1,311 F40s built, was originally delivered to Sheikh Mohamed Yousuf Zahid of Saudi Arabia before being acquired by Japanese racing driver and supercar collector Koji Aoyama. Originally finished in red (Rosso Corsa), it was refinished in silver (Argento Nürburgring) under Aoyama’s ownership and modified with a period-correct F40 LM kit. It made its U.S. debut in August 2024 at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering before being sold to Utah-based social media personality and car collector Supercar Ron. On June 28, 2025, the car sustained heavy damage after being sideswiped by a semi-truck. Ron commissioned a full rebuild by Exclusive Restoration in Long Beach which was completed in summer 2026 in time for the car to attend Monterey Car Week.

It's tragic when any collector car is involved in a collision, especially when it was in no way the owner or driver's fault. And this is even more true when the car happens to be a rare Ferrari F40. Sure, this car isn't an original LM, and it wasn't finished in this color from the factory. But the modifications are all true to the Ferrari spirit, not crossing the line of sacrilege but making the car much more exciting to enjoy. And I'm glad its owner not only decided it was worth rebuilding, but also had the means to do so to the highest standards. This car was proudly displayed during Monterey Car Week with a heavily damaged wheel from the crash prominently displayed in a glass case attached to the roof. Sometimes great pain results in even greater appreciation!
