A rare F1 Liquid Silver 2014 McLaren P1 with Mclaren Red accents and Slate Grey Alcantara interior leaving Cars 'N Copters on the Coast at Huntington City Beach. This car, originally finished in Supernova Silver, is no. 24 of 375 P1s built. A previous owner commissioned MSO (McLaren Special Operations) to refinish it in McLaren's Formula One racing team color. It is one of two P1s in this color, one European-spec car and one U.S.-spec car, and was sold for $1,820,000 at the 2018 RM Sotheby's Monterey auction.

When you have made a name for yourself in the supercar world and have an unlimited supply of cash, automakers often bow to your special requests. This P1's original owner was a well-known supercar collector who also happened to own the only other P1 with this special color. And McLaren confirmed these would be the only two ever finished in this hue. So why did he want two of the same hypercar in the same color? Because the original one was a European-spec car, and he wanted a U.S.-spec one too so he could drive it on American roads. Such is the life of the rich and famous.
