Rare 1910 Pope-Hartford Model T Touring
A rare 1910 Pope-Hartford Model T Touring car arriving at and leaving Clearman's restaurants during the 2025 Holiday Motor Excursion presented by the Horseless Carriage Club (HCCA) of Southern California. This car, which had previously been restored under the ownership of Bill Harrah, was displayed at the 2023 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where it won Third in Class (Antique).
I love how many horseless carriage and antique car owners treat automotive gatherings as events for the whole family. And I especially love how the owner of this car gave a young family member a chance to drive it. There is increasing concern that younger individuals are not interested in antique cars despite their beauty and historical significance. Yes, it's true that more and more younger people are being drawn to whatever is trendy or able to attract mainstream attention. But that's also because most of them have never been exposed to century-old cars, let alone given an opportunity to ride in one or drive one. And many owners simply don't realize just how important this is for the future of the hobby. I'm glad this owner sees differently, and I have a feeling this beautiful Pope-Hartford will remain in the family for many more generations.
Would you give younger individuals the chance to drive your horseless carriage like this owner did? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
