Rare 1930 Packard 734 Speedster Eight Victoria Coupe (w/ startup)
A rare white 1930 Packard 734 Speedster Eight Victoria Coupe from The Nethercutt Collection arriving at and leaving the 2026 San Marino Motor Classic at Lacy Park, where it won First in Class (Packard Pre War Closed) and Most Elegant Pre War Car. The Victoria Coupe was the most expensive of five body styles available for the Packard 734. This car, chassis no. 184019, is one of 113 734s built (including all body styles) and is the only known restored Victoria Coupe. It was displayed at the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where it received the Classic Car Club of America Trophy (for the most significant classic car present), and it was featured in an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage in March 2026.
The Nethercutt Collection never fails to impress with its numerous immaculately restored classic cars. Even at the San Marino Motor Classic where over a dozen pre-war Packards were in attendance, this one clearly stood out. And getting to catch it up close before it was loaded into the transporter only made me love it more. This car is full of incredible details, from the beautiful chromework to the artistic pinstriping to the elegant interior window curtains. Plus, the improved performance of the 734 has made it one of the most desirable pre-war Packard models. Add to that its unique coachwork and good-as-new condition, and it should be no surprise that it received two big awards.
