Rare 1933 Franklin V12 Series 17 7-Passenger Sedan
A rare black 1933 Franklin V12 Series 17 7-passenger sedan arriving at and leaving the 2022 Holiday Motor Excursion presented by the Horseless Carriage Club (HCCA) of Southern California.
This car embodies much of what many people have associated with luxury cars for decades. It has generous proportions, a spacious interior, and a huge front grille. That grille would have looked big even in a time when just about every car had a big upright grille. And it's black - a color that, when applied to big luxury cars, translates to serious business whether you're a Wall Street investor or a mafia boss. Plus, there's a big V12 under the hood. Whether you push the engine to its limits or simply enjoy its smoothness at cruising speeds, a dozen cylinders essentially tell everyone that money's not a problem. With all these tried-and-true characteristics, it's no surprise this Franklin still stands today as an elegant and stately symbol of luxury no less than it did in the 1930s.
