A very rare grey 1949 Maserati A6 1500 arriving at Macchinissima III at Rolling Greens. Introduced as a prototype at the 1947 Geneva Motor Show, the A6 1500 was Maserati's first production road car and is powered by a 1.5-liter inline-six engine producing 65 horsepower. This example, featuring Berlinetta coachwork by Pinin Farina, is one of 61 A6 1500s built. Purchased by its current owner in 2024, the car has previously participated in the Mille Miglia four times and has been displayed at the Enzo Ferrari Museum (Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari) and the Maserati headquarters.

I had no idea this car was a Maserati until I asked the owner what it was (before I had a chance to see the emblem of course). Its front grille and overall profile bear little resemblance to those of any other Maserati I'm familiar with both old and new. But as always, I'm thrilled to be enlightened with more automotive history knowledge. And given that Maserati is best known today to the general public as a road car manufacturer (with a performance flair), this car is certainly an important piece of history. The restoration looks impeccable both inside and out, and the car's rarity makes it even more of a treat to see in the flesh. If that's not special enough, what are the chances of catching it parked next to a similarly colored Pegaso?

How much do you think this rare Maserati is worth? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
