Lancia's modern lineup can easily make you forget its rich history. And many who remember that history will instantly think of rally legends like the Delta Integrale and the Stratos. But back in the '50s and '60s when Italy built some of the most beautiful grand tourers of all time, Lancia was certainly part of the fun. And today many collectors would agree that there's no Lancia more beautiful than the Aurelia B24 Spider. There was also an elegantly styled B24 Convertible which replaced the Spider, but that car's design is more tame compared to the Spider's more exaggerated features. From its swoopy side profile to its wraparound windshield to its two-part chrome front and rear bumpers, the Spider is a work of art that isn't afraid to stand out. Even though many people in the U.S. today may be unfamiliar with that shield-like grille or even the Lancia brand in general, there's no doubt this car has a gorgeous and timeless Italian design. I had a brief chat with its owner about classic Lancias and Ferraris, and he nonchalantly told me, "I have a lot of 'em. I restore 'em and collect 'em." If only amassing a collection of valuable classic cars were as easy as he made it seem, I'd certainly have a B24 Spider in my garage too!
