A rare grey 1966 Lancia Flaminia GTL starting up and leaving Peninsula Cars & Coffee at Promenade on the Peninsula, organized by the Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance. With bodywork by Carrozzeria Touring, the Flaminia GTL was based on the Flaminia GT with an extended wheelbase for 2+2 seating. This car is no. 242 of 297 Flaminia GTLs powered by a 2.8-liter Lancia V6 engine. It was previously owned by Nissan Motor Corporation and used as a study car in the development of the Fairlady Z (Datsun 240Z). The car is currently being offered for sale by its owner for $87,900.

This video faithfully captures the moment when someone saw this car and said, "it's the James Bond car!" Even though he was soon kindly informed that was actually Italian and not a DB5, the immediate association with the famed Aston Martin is a testament to the Lancia's beautiful design and timeless proportions. And its use as an inspiration for the popular Fairlady shows that automotive beauty is truly a universal language. Unfortunately, with Lancia now a struggling and largely obsolete brand, it will be difficult for this car to fetch a price in the same league as contemporary European grand tourers from brands that are still well established in the luxury segment today. I don't know why its owner has decided to let it go, but if you're interested in a timelessly beautiful '60s Italian GT that may cause some to mistake you for Mr. Bond himself, this may be an excellent opportunity!

Would you buy this classic Lancia for $87,900? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
