A rare red 1967 Ferves Ranger, one of 600 produced between 1966 and 1971, starting up and leaving Arcadia Park during the 2021 Holiday Motor Excursion presented by the Horseless Carriage Club (HCCA) of Southern California. Introduced at the 1966 Turin Motor Show, the Ranger was built by Ferves (Ferrari Veicoli Speciali) as an all-terrain multi-purpose version of the Fiat 500 and Fiat 600. It is powered by a rear-mounted Fiat 500 2-cylinder engine and features open bodywork with a folding windscreen and removable doors.

"You drive a Ranger? Me too. Wait, that's not a Ford..." Here's an odd little vehicle you definitely don't see every day. And don't ask me why it made an appearance at a gathering of horseless carriages and hot rods. It looks a bit like a Fiat and size would make it fit right in with Japanese kei cars. And here in the States where most people seem to prefer massive SUVs that barely fit into standard parking spaces, it's especially interesting to see this curious little buggy out in the wild. Even many hardcore car enthusiasts have probably never heard of the Ferves (myself included until I stumbled upon this one). But it's always interesting learning about odd and obscure cars that I may never get to cross paths with again. This car was being offered for sale when I saw it. I'm not sure if it has since found a new owner, but whoever holds the key now can certainly enjoy endless conversations and questions at just about any car gathering!

Would you add this rare Ferves Ranger to your collection? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
