A rare red Porsche 911 Strosek Mega Speedster with 18" Fikse Profil 5S forged wheels arriving at and leaving The Supercar Social at Newport Beach Automotive Group. Based on a 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster, this custom car was built by Bob Anziano's Bad Boy Cars and utilized numerous Porsche 964 components including mirrors, taillights, and seats. It is powered by a modified air-cooled flat six engine stroked from 3.2 liters to 3.6 liters by S-Car-Go Racing.

As a kid, my favorite thing to do at the grocery store was run to the magazine aisle and find the latest issue of DuPont Registry to see all the cool cars inside. It was through those magazine pages that I became familiar with Strosek, though I simply knew the cars as modified Porsches with strange tiny headlights. The Strosek name faded from my memory as the years (and decades) passed, until 2023 when I found out there was an actual Strosek Speedster here in SoCal whose owner frequently attends local car events. Sure enough, I soon found myself at the right place at the right time.

This car is exactly what a wild '80s-'90s custom supercar should look like. Those signature Strosek headlights, the blacked-out taillight bar, and the removable hardtop that doesn't give a flip about rearward visibility all look like something that belongs in a classic sci-fi movie. The owner has now replaced the Fikse wheels with a set of OZ Futuras, which I think fit the car even better. There's really nothing like getting to see a piece of my childhood come to life for the first time!
