A rare white (Bianco) 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 leaving Sunset GT hosted by O'Gara at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Inspired by and named after the original Countach, the LPI 800-4 was based on the Sián FKP 37 and utilizes a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 6.5-liter V12 engine and an electric motor producing a total of 803 horsepower. This example is one of 112 Countach LP 800-4s built and is currently listed for sale at Lamborghini Beverly Hills (O'Gara Coach) with a price of $2,800,000.

Back in 2006, Lamborghini introduced a Murcielago-based concept car with retro styling inspired by the Miura. Stefan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Lamborghini, had no intention to put the concept into production, saying that "Lamborghini is about the future" and "retro design is not what we are here for". Well, things have definitely changed. Lamborghini is now notorious for building ultra-limited models priced in hypercar territory that are essentially rebodied and slightly upgraded versions of lesser models. And as long as customers are willing to fork up the cash, the company isn't going to stop. At least this Countach is based on the Sian, which is already a very exclusive model with a unique powertrain. (Interestingly, Lamborghini actually produced more units of the Countach than of the Sian coupe and Roadster combined!) The Countach looks better in the sense that it's a much cleaner design than the wild Sian, but I wouldn't necessarily consider it better looking than the original Countach or the contemporary Aventador, either of which could be obtained for much less money. The LPI 800-4 is the Countach that's ultimately really not a Countach at all, and there are definitely better ways to spend 3 million dollars. But if you're in the market for this car, chances are you already own both an original Countach and several modern Lambos, so what hurt is there in another special acquisition?

Would you choose this Countach LPI 800-4 over a Sian? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
