Rare Jaguar F-Type Project 7

A rare 2016 Jaguar F-Type Project 7, one of 250 Project 7s built (50 of which were for the United States), leaving Cars 'N Copters on the Coast at Huntington City Beach. The Project 7 is powered by the same 575-horsepower supercharged V8 engine used in the F-Type SVR and features a rear-wheel-drive layout and unique styling by Brazilian-Italian designer Cesar Pieri consisting of an "Aero Haunch" and a fixed rear spoiler. It was offered in five metallic colors with graphics options. This example, finished in British Racing Green, was displayed at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in 2016 and was used in a factory promotional photo shoot for the F-Type SVR.

If automobiles are works of art, then its creators are artists - people who would go above and beyond the requirements of their jobs in the name of art. The Project 7 is a car that should never have existed, but that makes its actual existence even more commendable. It was envisioned and designed off the record, inadvertently discovered by the design boss, and eventually given the green light to be built not only as a concept but also as an actual car customers could buy. While many special editions focus almost entirely on unique paint and badging, this one features extensively modified bodywork that clearly sets it apart regardless of color or spec. And it also happens to share an engine with the F-Type SVR, making it (and the SVR) Jaguar's most powerful production car ever at the time. Sure, it may be "just" an F-Type. But at least with this F-Type you can pull up next to an XJ220 with a grin knowing your car is faster, more powerful, and also more rare!

Do you think Jaguar should invest in building more special edition cars like the Project 7? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
