Rare Jaguar XJR-15 with Mechanical Problems in Beverly Hills

A very rare blue 1991 Jaguar XJR-15 with mechanical problems leaving the 2022 Rodeo Drive Concours d'Elegance. Built by Jaguar Sport and Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), the XJR-15 was based on the XJR-9 Le Mans-winning race car and is powered by a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated Jaguar V12 engine producing 450 horsepower. Designed by Peter Stevens, who later designed the McLaren F1, it was the world's first production road car with a full carbon fiber body. This example from the Caretakers Collection is one of 53 XJR-15s built between 1990 and 1992.

Just about every car enthusiast is familiar with the Jaguar XJ220 and McLaren F1, two prominent '90s supercars that still amaze crowds today anytime they appear. But few may remember Jaguar's XJR-15, produced just before the XJ220 and penned by the same designer as the mighty F1. I won't deny it was a bit disappointing that this rare car was unable to fire up and that I burned through a heck of a lot of memory space on my camera capturing every attempt in case one of them would actually make that V12 roar to life. But hey, owning cars like this was never supposed to be easy, right? And at least the guys only had to push it down the street for half a block!

Would you choose this rare XJR-15 over an XJ220? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
