Rare Red 1929 Bentley 4½ Litre Tourer
A rare red 1929 Bentley 4½ Litre tourer with black fenders, one of around 700 4½ Litres built, arriving at and leaving Clearman's restaurants during the 2025 Holiday Motor Excursion presented by the Horseless Carriage Club (HCCA) of Southern California. This car, chassis no. RL3429, is a former Best of Class winner at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and has participated in several vintage car events including the West Coast Bentley Tour and the Colorado Grand.
Bentley's lineup across the span of its long history has included everything from big opulent sedans and SUVs to hardcore open racers. But there's one thing all those models have in common - they're not typically associated with the color red. Most vintage Bentleys I've seen are either black or (unsurprisingly) dark green. But that only serves to make this example stand out. Sure, its color may be decidedly un-British. But it definitely looks good, and I imagine it's a heck of a lot of fun to drive too!
