Rare Sport Grey Metallic Porsche 911 Sport Classic (w/ startup)
A rare 2023 Porsche 911 (992) Sport Classic starting up and leaving Cars & Coffee at Singleton Classics. Based on the 992 Turbo, the Sport Classic had a starting price (MSRP) of around $273,000 and features a rear-wheel-drive layout, a 7-speed manual transmission, a ducktail rear spoiler, and the Turbo's wider bodywork without intakes on the rear fenders. It is powered by the Turbo's 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine detuned to produce 543 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque to accommodate the manual transmission. This example, finished in Sport Grey Metallic, is no. 0753 of 1,250 Sport Classics built.
I'm a bit annoyed at myself for loving this car. It's another overpriced, overhyped special edition Porsche 911 built largely around the brand's existing parts and historical success. But as its name suggests, it's precisely the perfect combination of "sport" and "classic", in terms of both looks and performance. I've only encountered a handful of these rare cars, probably because most owners choose to not put too many miles on them. And I can't really blame them; examples are now already trading hands for around half a million dollars, and I have a feeling prices will only increase from here.
