Rare Yellow Pagani Zonda S Roadster (One-Off Zonda F Prototype)
A very rare Geneva Yellow Metallic 2004 Pagani Zonda S Roadster, one of 40 Zonda S Roadsters built, arriving at and leaving Supercars at Sunset presented by Protective Film Solutions. Introduced in 2002 as a coupe and in 2003 as a Roadster, the Zonda S is powered by a 7.3-liter naturally aspirated AMG V12 engine producing around 550 horsepower. This unique example was used as a development car for the 2005 Zonda F and features several elements of the Zonda F including wheels, exhaust, bodywork and interior components, and a more powerful engine producing around 650 horsepower.
The Zonda was introduced way back in 1999, and I still don't know whether Pagani has finally stopped building it, since it seems like newly commissioned examples still occasionally pop up after interested customers approach the company with enough cash. I find it interesting that those customers will actually choose a "new" Zonda over a Huayra or Utopia. But that only shows that the Zonda is a car that seems to transcend time. Sure, its styling may be a bit outdated compared to that of its successors. But despite now being a couple generations old, it still carries the same wow factor as a brand new hypercar. With its wild rocketship-like design, massive V12 powerplant, and, in the case of this example, a convertible top and bright yellow paint, it looks like it came from - and probably belongs on - another planet. And from behind the wheel, you'll certainly get a healthy dose of astonished looks from spectators as if they had just seen an actual spaceship.
