Roman Red 1962 Chevrolet Corvette C1 (w/ startup)

A Roman Red 1962 Chevrolet Corvette (C1) starting up and leaving Carcadia. 1962 was the final year of production for the first-generation (C1) Corvette.

The folks at Chevrolet have often staggered refreshes to the Corvette's front end, rear end, interior, and engine to keep things fresh and new each year while allowing eagle-eyed enthusiasts to easily identify a car's specific year. Even so, Corvettes from 1961 and 1962 (the final two years of the C1) are particularly interesting. Up front, they look much like standard late-model C1s, but in back they received a complete redesign that basically carried over to the C2. I personally think the updated front end of the C2 pairs better with this rear design, but maybe that's just because I'm used to it being a cohesive package. Either way, this car represents a unique slice of Corvette history during which you could, in retrospect, have what is essentially two distinct Corvette generations in the same car!
