Imported JDM Nissan Pulsar GTI-R Homologation Special

A 1990 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R (RNN14) RB arriving at and leaving Claremont Cars & Coffee at Granite Creek Community Church. The GTI-R was a homologation special based on the fourth-generation (N14) Pulsar (sold in Europe as the Sunny) to meet World Rally Championship (WRC) Group A regulations. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter SR20DET four-cylinder engine and utilizes Nissan’s ATTESA (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All-Terrain) all-wheel drive system. This Japanese-market example, finished in Bluish Grey (TJ1), is one of 45 finished in this color. It was imported to the U.S. by Japanese Classics and has been modified with Rays Volk Racing AV wheels, an HKS front mount intercooler, and a custom exhaust system.

There's no doubt Nissan has always been the dominant brand among fans of specially imported JDM cars, thanks to the popularity of multiple generations of Silvias and Skylines. But as those models become increasingly common here in the States, some enthusiasts have realized there are actually other Nissan models worthy of importing. This humble little hatchback may not have the legendary status of a Skyline GT-R, but it certainly packs a heck of a lot of performance, not to mention a heck of a lot of fun. And those massive clusters of vents on the hood are actually stock! It's unfortunate the owner didn't spend a little more time looking for a spot in the display lot before ultimately leaving the car outside, because it's definitely something that deserves to be seen and appreciated!

Would you drive this imported GTI-R on U.S. roads? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
