Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Street-Legal Race Car Conversion

A custom Porsche 911 GT3 RSR conversion arriving at and leaving Cars and Chronos at Hing Wa Lee Plaza. Based on a 2000 Porsche 911 (996) Cabriolet with a salvage title, this car was rebuilt with fiberglass bodywork modeled after the 997-generation GT3 RSR race car. It is equipped with a roll cage, a digital racing gauge cluster, and upgraded brakes, suspension, and engine, and is eligible to compete in the GT3 class of Porsche Owners Club racing events.

As you can see, there were several really nice Porsches at this event. But when it came to shooting videos, I couldn't help but gravitate toward the one that looks most out of place driving on a public road. A young child can probably tell you that this car belongs on a race track. But that makes it all the more special when it's caught being driven on the street. Sure, this car is technically an ordinary 911, and not even a 997. But what most see as a wrecked car not worth repairing is, to some, a perfect opportunity to exercise some creativity. And the result is a unique build that looks like a race car and drives like a race car yet can be operated on the street alongside ordinary traffic.
