Signet Red 1958 Chevrolet Corvette C1
A Signet Red 1958 Chevrolet Corvette (C1) with Snowcrest White side coves starting up and leaving Carcadia. 1958 was the only year the Corvette was available in this color.
First-generation Corvettes are works of art both inside and out, and this example is definitely no exception. I was surprised when the owner told me the color was a factory option, since it's clearly different from the shade of red most people associate with Corvettes. It has more of a coral hue that's especially noticeable under direct light, and while it probably wouldn't be a good fit for modern Vettes, it sure looks good on this one. This just happened to be the morning I brought my C4 out to the monthly Carcadia meet for the first time, and I'm so glad I did, because it helped fill in what would otherwise have been a glaring gap in an unplanned appearance of all eight Corvette generations. Of over a dozen Vettes present, this one was the oldest. What an incredible way to celebrate the history of America's Sports Car!
