872-bhp Weistec Engineering McLaren 650S Coupe
A Volcano Orange 2015 McLaren 650S coupe arriving at and leaving the Bugatti Newport Beach (Newport Beach Automotive Group) Hyper Car Show. This car is equipped with MSO (McLaren Special Operations) carbon fiber aero components and has been modified with the Weistec Engineering W.900 package increasing power to 872 bhp.
What got me most excited about seeing this car wasn't the fact that it had unique aero components and was suped up to produce an insane amount of power, but rather simply that it's a 650S in coupe form. Yes, this is really just the base version of a standard-production model. But I've always been greatly perplexed by how hard it is to find a 650S coupe. I had seen a few of them at dealerships way back when they were new, but pretty soon they all vanished and I was only able to find Spiders. Sure, people here in Southern California tend to like convertibles. But fixed-top versions of the 12C, 720S, and pretty much every other supercar are nowhere near as hard to find. And I'm sure there are still many enthusiasts who use their cars for purposes that benefit from a fixed top. So why is the 650S coupe so darn rare? I don't know if I'll ever find out the answer, but for now, I'm just glad to have finally caught one on video.
Why do you think the 650S coupe is so much more rare compared to the Spider? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
