A rare Ferrari Daytona SP3 owned and driven by David Lee, Chairman and CEO of Hing Wa Lee Jewelers, leaving Cars and Chronos at Hing Wa Lee Plaza. The Daytona SP3 is built on a LaFerrari Aperta chassis and is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated F140HC V12 engine producing 828 horsepower. This new car, finished in green exposed carbon fiber with gold racing stripe and wheels, was delivered to Lee in October through Ferrari Westlake. It is one of 599 Daytona SP3s being built, 30 of which have exposed carbon fiber bodywork.

There are countless critics of the new Ferrari F80's controversial styling and hybrid V6 powertrain who believe the Daytona SP3 is what the F80 should have been all along. Ferrari has always wanted its flagship hypercars to exhibit the latest cutting-edge performance technology, and the SP3, with its LaFerrari underpinnings and gas-only V12 engine, simply doesn't fit that description. But it sure as heck is beautiful. And regardless of whether or not you embrace efficiency and new tech, you can't not love a V12-powered Ferrari!

The combination of dark green and gold wheels may seem more fitting for a British car, but it works incredibly well on Ferrari's latest ""Icona"" series masterpiece - a timeless color combination paired with timeless styling that's inspired by the past yet fully modern. The exposed carbon fiber looks amazing (especially in person), and the gold racing stripe is a subtle but effective finishing touch. This car may not be the new F80, but it certainly looks right at home in Lee's stable, which already includes Ferrari's "Big Five" and will also be home to his future F80.

Would you choose this Daytona SP3 over the new F80? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
