A new blue 2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore arriving at and leaving Winter Drive 2025, organized by Purist Group, at Industry Hills Expo Center. With a starting price (MSRP) of around $208,000, the Folgore features an all-wheel drive layout and an electric powertrain with three motors producing a total of 818 horsepower and providing up to 233 miles of electric range.

The current-generation GranTurismo/GranCabrio has been on the market for a few years already, and I've only seen a handful of them, nearly all of which were either dealer cars. That's not a good sign, because the original GranTurismo was an instant hit and a common sight in areas where people could afford luxury cars. I think Maserati did a good job modernizing the car for its second generation while retaining the original's classic proportions. But as our society increasingly prioritizes new ways to stand out, maybe the evolutionary approach simply isn't enough to attract buyers. And that may be especially true for the Folgore, given the shaky EV market and the car's price tag. Yes, it's one of the sexiest modern Italian grand tourers, it's luxurious and innovative, and I'm sure performance isn't shabby either, so it checks all the right boxes. But do the people checking these boxes also have an extra $200,000 to spend, and are they willing to spend it on this car? I sure hope so.

Would you choose this electric GranCabrio over gas-powered variants? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
