A grey Ferrari 458 Italia by CTR (Classic Tuning Restoration) arriving at and leaving Winter Drive 2025, organized by Purist Group, at Industry Hills Expo Center. Introduced a few weeks ago at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the new CTR brand was created by Vorsteiner, a California-based designer and manufacturer of wheels and aero kits for luxury vehicles, and focuses on reinterpretations of European classics and sports cars. (Peter Nam, founder of Vorsteiner and CTR, is also the founder of Gunther Werks, known for its reimagined versions of classic Porsche 911s.) This car, based on a Grigio Silverstone 2014 Ferrari 458 Italia with Nero interior, was displayed at SEMA to showcase the CTR band and its first model. It features the complete CTR carbon fiber aero package (with a starting price of $64,950) and 20"/21" VMM102 magnesium wheels (with a starting price of $17,480).

As the founder of Gunther Werks, Peter Nam is undoubtedly familiar with Porsches and probably knows that for most car enthusiasts, "CTR" instantly invokes images of Alois Ruf's Porsche-inspired masterpieces. I wouldn't be surprised if he cleverly chose his new company's name with that in mind. After all, his CTR follows a similar philosophy of taking an already great car and making it even greater in the spirit of the original. And with Vorsteiner already making aero kits for numerous supercars, creating a new and separate brand helps make sure new products don't get lost in the shadows of existing ones.

The subtlety of this car's design isn't for everyone, especially in today's attention-craving world. But those who appreciate car customization as a true art form rather than a means of gaining popularity and attention will agree that the best aftermarket body work should enhance and be catered specifically to a car's factory design rather than disregard or deviate heavily from it. And that's exactly what makes this car so special. Yes, $80,000 is a lot of money to spend on upgrading a car. But this upgrade isn't for those who buy a used 458 because they can't afford a new Ferrari, but rather for those who specifically love the model and want to maximize its potential. Its allure is in the fact that it can almost be mistaken for a factory special edition. And for many well-heeled enthusiasts, that alone is well worth the high price.

Had I not read about this car just the night before the event, I probably wouldn't have paid too much attention to it at such a large gathering. But it's definitely exciting to see a car you had just seen in pictures suddenly appear before your eyes in person. If Gunther Werks is any indication, CTR should have no trouble attracting buyers and expanding its lineup in the months and years to come.
