Rare 1932 Delage D8 100 SS Figoni Convertible Coupé

A rare orange and black 1932 Delage D8 (D8-100) SS arriving at and leaving the 2023 San Marino Motor Classic at Lacy Park. This car, chassis 36046, features Convertible Coupé coachwork by Figoni and is equipped with a glass “Coq Nain” hood ornament by René Lalique. It was displayed at the 2023 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

I love watching cars arrive at the annual San Marino Motor Classic, and I've learned from experience that there will always be a few cars that show up well after the designated load-in timeframe. This French beauty made me glad I chose to stick around. I don't know if the unique two-tone color combination was its original factory color scheme, and I personally would have opted for something a little less Halloween-like. But there's no denying this is a very special car. And just look at that magnificent hood ornament! From the driver's seat, I imagine it may be a little strange having to constantly stare at a rooster's, um, rear end. But I guess it's a luxury I'll never understand until I can afford my own Delage!
