Rare Lamborghini Gallardo Nera Special Edition (w/ startup)
A rare 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Nera arriving at and leaving the 2024 San Marino Motor Classic at Lacy Park, where it won Second in Class (Lamborghini). Introduced at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, the Nera was a special edition based on the Gallardo coupe and built to showcase Lamborghini's Ad Personam personalization program. It features two-tone gloss black (Nero Noctis or Nero Serapis) and matte black paint, two-tone black and white (Nero Perseus and Bianco Polar) interior, black Callisto wheels, and silver brake calipers. This example is one of 185 Gallardo Neras built.
In the mid-late 2000s, the use of matte colors on cars was quite rare. Wrapping personal vehicles had yet to become commonplace, and most aftermarket matte colors, whether painted or wrapped, looked more like a tacky and unfinished paint job than a proper fashion statement. So for a car to be released from the factory in matte black was a pretty big deal. Lamborghini did a great job of demonstrating the beauty of refined and properly applied matte paint by contrasting it with gloss black. And when under clear lighting, the contrast really shows. Nowadays, cars with matte/satin finishes or multi-tone color schemes are common sights, and just about anyone who can afford a Lamborghini can fork up a little more cash to have an aftermarket wrap installer create something like the Nera. But there's nothing like being able to brag about owning a factory limited edition, right?
With matte wraps and paint jobs so common nowadays, do you think the Gallardo Nera should be worth more than a standard Gallardo? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
