The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe isn't the most controversial automotive launch in recent weeks (ahem, Ferrari...), but it still left many people scratching their heads and wondering where the heck the AMG brand is headed. And it definitely gave many enthusiasts a much deeper appreciation for cars like this one. The SLS was made when Mercedes-Benz was confident that people knew and trusted the AMG name without it having to be a distinct brand. It was also a real coupe, as in a car with two doors. (There's no such thing as a "four-door coupe" for crying out loud. Stop making cars pretend to be something they're not!) It has a tried-and-true performance-focused AMG powertrain. And it looks great without trying too hard to stand out thanks to timeless proportions and design cues inspired by the legendary 300SL. I'm glad the owner of this one is enjoying putting miles on it and also enjoying being caught on camera!
